Of Mice and Men

Why do you think Lennie wants George to tell him a story that he already knows by heart?

Lennie has the intellect and emotional capabilities of a six-year-old. The story about the dream farm brings him comfort. The repetition grounds him and gives him hope. The story represents hope and stability in their transient life. I believe George likes telling it for similar reasons.
