Why do Crooks tease Lennie with thoughts that George might not come back? Use the text to support your inference.

Crooks is lonely and he temporarily feels better inflicting loneliness on someone else. This is human nature. At times we lash out at others so they can feel pain as well. Lennie is vulnerable so Crooks takes advantage of him. Curley's wife will do the same to Crooks.
