what is crooks apprearance and why is curleys wife vicious to him

Crooks is a black stablehand. His spine is warped so he walks around bent or crooked. Curley's wife sees her own pain and isolation in Crooks so she lashes ut at him. Her anger towards him is the only control she feels she has. She sees him as the only person weaker than her so her frustrations are poured onto him.
