What did Lennie and George get themselves into at this end of this chapter? What do you think is going to happen to them? How was George toward Lennie during this incident and after?

Curley goes after George. Curley is upset because he blames Slim for "eyeing" his wife. Really Curley is just upset all the time because he hates himself. He goes after George; he feels George won't protect himself. George ends up crushing Curley's hand. Slim is able to convince Curley to keep quiet about the incident or he will tell everybody the truth. George isn't mad at Lennie. George, in fact, told Lennie to protect himself, Curley had it coming.

Oops, I meant that Curley goes after Lennie.
