OF MICE AND MEN CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT ESSAY HOOK HELP??

hi we are reading of mice and men and I am writing a character development essay on George and how he changes throughout the story. i talk about how he is harsh and lennie, then he starts to neglect and disregard lennie after meeting those on the ranch and then he finally reclaims his role as lennie's protector and companion. I really need help with a hook and my paper is due tomorrow!! thanks :)

By a "hook" do you mean something in your introduction to attract the reader? I'm not sure this is necessary if you are doing an academic expository. Still , here is my take on the relationship:

George has to look out for Lennie and take care of him.Two grown men who love each other as brothers do. They are very close and also very distant. Lennie and George communicate within a narrow context that can't transcend Lennie's very limited comprehension. Lennie is mentally challenged yet hard working . Although they have a brotherly relationship , Lennie sees george as a paternal role model . He does as George tells him to as far as his mind enables him. In a society that is so desperately lonely, George and Lennie share a bond that is simple yet profound.

Sorry, yes I meant a hook that is supposed to grab the reader. Thank you so much for your answer, I will definetely take it into account!! It is very much appreciated!! So I could write something about brotherly love maybe??
