The Novella Of Mice and Men was set during the Great Depression In the 1930s. Life wasn’t great for the Americans who had just come out of the First World War, a recession soon followed after and by 1929 the wall street crash occurred plunging the word into debt. Work was hard to find and many men travelled to California, ‘the land of plenty’ in hope to earn money. Many men were isolated from their family which Steinbeck shows by using numerous relationships all contrasting one another. HERES THE ONE I WROTE
