How would you describe the treatment of Lennie by Crooks?

Crooks initially treats Lennie in the same way he is treated by the other men. He doesn't know that Lennie is different, that Lennie doesn't see people in terms of color, but rather sees everyone the same. When Crooks realizes that Lennie is incapable of prejudice, he opens up to him.
