How does the boss treat Lennie and George in the book?

The boss treats George and Lennie like hired hands..... nd that is all they are to him. He also questions the relationship between the two men, noting that Lennie can't speak for himself, and that George does all the talking. He believes that possibly George is taking advantage of Lennie's disability..... hiring the big, childlike man out for hard labor, and then collecting his paycheck.
