Of Mice and Men

George and Lenny often change jobs, and so do many other men in the story. Why was this?

George and Lennie are itinerant ranch workers. They travel from place to place, job to job, in order to make a living. Ranch work was often temporary and seasonal, so in order to get by, the workers moved from place to place.
