George and Lennie share a dream of finding a fixed place they can call home, a place of their own. They dream of working for themeselves, living in a place that is their home rather than constantly moving from place to place like so many other itinerant workers. George wants to grow his own food and Lennie wants to "tend the rabbits". For both Lennie and George, their dream is one of finding comfort, belonging, and security.
