Chapter Five of mice and men - Who joins Lennie in the barn? Why? How does Lennie react?

Curley's wife joins Lennie in the barn. She is lonely and Lennie is the only one who will talk to her. Initially Lennie is hesitant to talk with her: George had warned him not to. Curley's wife is just desperately lonely and will talk to anyone, even a man with the emotional intelligence of an eight year old.
