At this point in the novel, the reader has been introduced to the main characters in the plot. How would you describe the characters?

We understand that George and Lennie are the protagonists. George and Lennie are close. In a world full of isolation and desperation: they have each other. George must look after Lennie as one looks after a child. Lennie, however, has the mental and emotional condition of a child in a man's body. George must constantly be aware of what Lennie is doing in order to avoid catastrophe. Both men have a dream of a place of their own and stability.
