why is curlys wife always reffered to as curleys wife and not anything other than curleys wife?

Curleys wife
This could be used to symbolise that she belongs to Curley and she isn't her own person because he bought her in marrige and she is now stuck on the ranch instead of living her dream.
yes james i agree because she living a life that she doesn't want to live, she wants to be in the movies and know that she is there on the ranch with curley, she cant do anything, everyone ignores her as if she doesn't exsist as none of the men dont want to loose there jobs and so she feels she doesn't have an alyous
