Oedipus Rex or Oedipus the King

what argument does jocasta use to persuade oedipus to ignore the sooth-sayers and oracles? what minor detail in her argument motivates oedipus to pursue a new line of inquiry?

Basically Jacosta argues that Oedipus didn't kill his father and the prophecy is wrong. She says that her first husband died at the hands of strangers who were merely thieves.
