Oedipus Rex or Oedipus the King

In scene 1, Teiresias speaks as if fate will force out the truth. Does Sophocles portray oedipus as a puppet of fate or as a man with free will?

Oedipus is portrayed as a man of fate. Irregardless that he makes choices that he believes can change fate, the end result is that things happened to him as they were ordained by fate.
