Phony characters in Nine Stories

Does anyone know who represents the phony world in "For Esme With Love and Squalor?

its not a phony world, it is just years later. Sgt. X is the narrator of the story although im not sure who the other guy is.

The characters who represent the phoniness J.D. Salinger sees in society are the relatives of sergeant X. While he is at war they are not concerned about him, but rather ask for souvenirs such as swatsikas.
