Wiesel, in recounting the fist night in the concentration camp says, “Never shall I forget that noght, the first night in the camp, that has turned my life into one long night…” What does it mean for a life to be turned into “one long night”?

What he means by this is that the first night became a never ending horror. It just seemed to go on and on without reprieve.
