Which section of the book?

Ch. two & three

Most of Chapter 2 deals with train travel. Eli, his father, and the others are cramped into trains cars. The setting is dark and hot; conditions are unsanitary. They are packed like cattle, and because of their circumstances many begin to act like the animals they're treated like. Everything about this section reeks of darkness, which makes it all seem as if it takes place at night.
