What does the man in the bed next to Eliezer in the rmary mean when he says he has more faith in Hitler than in anyone else?

From the text, we can infer the man is referring to his hopelessness. At this point, he no longer has faith that God will deliver him from torment.... but he does believe that Hitler will continue his persecution and annihilation of the Jews without question.
