The opening paragraph of chapter 7 is very choppy. why do you think wiesel did this? do you think it's effective? why or why not?

I believe Wiesel does this to illustrate the chaos and confusion of the train car. People were panicking, confused..... they were hungry, grasping at anything in order to survive. The words are disjointed and choppy like the thoughts of the cars inhabitants, and I'm sure in the way that Wiesel remembers the harrowing event.
