summarize these two philosephies of survival and discuss the wisdom of each. which one do you agree with more personally and which do you feel is a better survival strategy for a situation like a nazi concentration camp?

wiesel was given two contrasting piecies of advice about how to survive. one was from a young pole, a prisoner in charge of one of the prison blocks (page 41), and the other was from the head of one of the blocks at Buchenwald who spokento weisel as his father lay dying(page 110)

The Pole treated everyone with great respect and humanity. Rather than bark orders, he motivated everyone to have faith and help one another to survive.

At Buchenwald, the head block reminded Wiesel that he was at a concentration camp and that in order to survive, he had to think of only himself and leave his father behind.
