How does Wiesel’s link to his father affect his will to survive?

Eliezer's will to survive has everything to do with the love he has for his father. The emotions and trauma the two experienced left them closer than ever, and in those moments when Elie wanted to give up, he didn't because he knew his father would be left alone. They kept going for each other, and although Elie sometimes grew frustrated, the love was always there.
