why is the title night?
I think the reason Elie Wiesel called his novel Night because he wanted to
let the world know that the Holocaust was the darkest and most painful time of
his life. He picked Night as a metaphor to describe how he felt. After what he
went through he probably felt alone, scared and angry.

It is in Chapter 3. "Never shall I forget that night, the first night in the camp, which has turned my life into one long night . . ."
I like the first answer the best. It makes way more sense than the others. Very good explanation and everything.
Personally, the short part from what I was forced to read, Wiesel is talking about the selections, and how they happened after dinner in the evening. How he would dream at night of a better world, while he feared his to end to soon. How he lost most of his family during this dark and cloudy time of history.
night is when the bad things happen
