New Moon

New Moon Analysis

New Moon is a book about the unbearable pain of loss; the choice, which is dependent on the human life; the saving power of the faithful friendship and the human soul, which can survive death. The second novel of the “Twilight” series is extremely important for understanding of the further plot development, so Stephenie Meyer faces with an incredibly difficult task: to create a fairy tale about love, but it must be more spectacular than the first novel “Twilight”. At the same time, readers desire to see a story, filled with an emotional component, based on the emergence of a love triangle.

New Moon is not just a romantic novel for a teenage audience. The author shows that the main characters are ready for everything to save their dearest people. That deed, which Edward commits, parting with Bella, immediately causes feelings of anguish, depression and disgust at the protagonist Edward. However, he has no choice. The author obviously uses this moment in the book to teach all readers to appreciate their native people even during the long parting.

Despite the endless problems and troubles in the life of the characters, there are always people nearby, who support our characters and will not give up in a blink. Werewolf Jacob Black is a character, who helps Bella to get rid of deal her depression. The author proves that it is very important to have friends, who can help to get out of the “swamp” at the right moment, where a person can drown together with difficulties. Friends are people, who will never leave in trouble, like Jacob, and they are trying to make this world brighter.

If to talk about love in this novel, it is lost and dangerous. Love is not dangerous, because a person can be killed or tortured endlessly. The love between Bella and Edward is dangerous, because it can hurt the heart and ruin the soul forever. The circumstances of the book force love to act in this way. If love does not destroy the soul, the soul will die together with the body. If Edward does not leave Bella, she will be killed.

No less important aspects of the novel are fearlessness and strength. There are many enemies, who are capable to destroy the main characters, using their weaknesses. Bella's main weakness is Edward. Moreover, the main task of evil is certainly to separate them. Stephenie Meyer teaches readers to be strong and fight for themselves and their freedom. It makes no sense of giving up immediately.

The theme of the love triangle involving Bella, Edward, and Jacob is frankly superfluous in the novel, because there are many problems, which are more complicated and more important than love. Nevertheless, the author uses this theme to show readers how to cope with a such problem without victims. However, what is it about the family? The family teaches the main heroes to love, being a loyal friend and brave personality. The Cullen family is a striking example of an ideal family, where the family hearth never fades away.

The plot of New Moon is quite exciting. This book amazes with its deep ideas and thoughts about the world, which surrounds us. It describes not only the romantic relationships between characters that are only interesting for teenagers, but also a real life and real difficulties that are very dangerous.
