I think Antonia becomes more removed from Jim. She is always afraid of Mr. Cutter who constantly tries to sleep with his hired girls. Antonia puts more energy into her social life when she moves in with the Cutters. She makes her own fancy outfits and parades around town with the other hired girls. Antonia is more "loose" with herself and undisciplined.
