Much Ado About Nothing

Is the ending of the play satisfactory? Should hero have ended up with Claudio, especially after all she has went through? Should hero accept her fathers apology given his actions? Is claudio's punishment appropriate.

i know hero gets humiliated by don pedros. the man she thought about going out with but then made a change at the end to go out with claudios.

Hero is also humiliated by Claudio. In a fair world Hero should have told Claudio where to go. He showed no trust in her or fidelity. This, however, is an Elizabethan world and a Shakespearian comedy. Women have little to know power and things must end happily. It is a patriarchal world where punishments and rewards are doled out from a decidedly male viewpoint. So, as far as endings go, this ends in typical Shakespearian comedy form.
