Much Ado About Nothing

Act II, Scene I: In line 38 Antonio says, "Well niece, I trust you will be ruled by your father." What is revealed about the Elizabethan attitudes towards women in this quote?

Can you give quotations with their line number?

We can see that women were basically the property of their fathers until they were given to their husbands. Then they became the property of their husbands. In both cases, women were subservient to their male authority figures.
