The Hunger Games trilogy is being adapted into a series of films, with the stars of the 2012 film The Hunger Games having signed on for a total of four movies.[27] On July 10, 2012, it was announced that Mockingjay will be split into two parts; Part 1 was released on November 21, 2014, and Part 2 will come out on November 20, 2015.[28] On November 1, 2012, it was confirmed that Francis Lawrence, director of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, will return to direct the two final movies in the series.[29] On September 13, 2013, it was announced that Julianne Moore will play President Coin.[30]
