A Midsummer Night's Dream

What is the significance of murder in cathedral as a play ?

may be it would be asked in the reference of present time . because in this play we see the king power over the religion. state authority want to rule over the people like god . when archbishop realize the religious power over the king , then king looked at him as his foil, because archbishop didn't accept king's power over god.
