This play doesn't rely on disguises like many of Shakespeare's other plays, but mistaken identity and confusion are caused by the love potion that throws everyone into mass confusion and generates love between the strangest of pairings (think of Titania's love for Bottom- an ass). For the most part, the confusion in this play is humor based more than anything else.
