The fairies case a lot of confusion and comedy mayhem in the story. Confused identities abound in this play as lovers fall in and out of love with different people. While this creates various new conflicts, they are only temporary. Eventually the fairies not only set things right, they set things better than they were prior to the lovers entering the forest. The play ends happily as most of Shakespeare’s comedies should.
