Are you referring to Puck's choice to transform Bottom's head into a donkey's head?

I am

I think to an extent. We certainly see the pompous buffoon come out of Bottom when he has the donkey head. He is slapstick and full of silly jokes. He basks in his short lived role as Titania's muse.
