I think you mean act 2 sc 2. Shakespeare liked to add a bit of comic relief into his plays. Servants often play a role in slapstick or change in presumed identity scenarios. Although modern audiences might find Launcelot’s treatment of his father rather mean spirited, the witty exchange would be appreciated by Elizabethan audiences.
