Why does Art say to Francoise, "in real life you'd never have let me talk this long"?

Art uses Francoise as a sounding board, a sort of therapy after having to listen to his father all the time. I think the idea here is that Francoise understands how stressful this is for Art and avoids interrupting him, as wives might do, to let him vent his frustrations.
