On page 80, Vladek says, “Will I walk slowly, they will take me… Will I run they can shoot me!” What does he mean? Who is he talking about? Do you think his feelings are justified?

Soldiers were grabbing Jews near the train station ; they were beating them. Vladek had to walk past, and he didn't know what to do. He was afraid that if he walked to slowly, they'd grab him. Then again, if he ran past, he might get shot. His feelings are completely justified, the German soldiers didn't care whether the jews had papers or not, they were doing whatever they wanted. I would have been terrified.
