How does chapter one end once Artie returns to the present time period with his story

Vladek finishes his story by relating that he takes a share in his father-in-law's hosiery business. Then, in the present, Vladek tells his son that he does not want this part of the story in the book because it is too personal. Art promises not to include it in the novel.
