I think that Vladek is flattered that somebody, especially his son, is taking the time to document an old man's life. Certainly an obvious famous cartoon creator at the time would have been Walt Disney hence the comparison.

Aslan i think you are wrong because Vladek always didn't like the idea of Art's book because he didn't want his personal life out there.
