Macbeth it talking to Lady Macbeth. The banquet has just ended in disaster. Macbeth is suspicious that Macduff did not attend. He thinks Macduff is a danger to him. He has a spy in the Macduff castle that he will consult. Macbeth also wants to go back to the witches to find out more.
