Macbeth

Macduff says, "Oh gentle lady. 'Tis not for you to hear what I can speak. The repetition in a womans ear. Would murder as it fell." What is ironic about this?

She is the one who has planned the murder, gotten the guards drunk and taken the daggers back when Macbeth could not. She is hardly the typical feminine character that Macduff refers to.
