why did macbeth bring the bloody daggers to lady macbeth

I don't believe he was actually bringing the daggers "to" Lady Macbeth. Horrified by his act and consumed with guilt, he couldn't bring himself to go back into Duncan's room. Thus, he carried the daggers with him. 

I’ll go no more: I am afraid to think what I have done; Look on ’t again I dare not.
