Macbeth

How does Banquo meet his untimely end? Why?

I think he is going to get to sit in the thrown and he gets killed

Macbeth kills Banquo because the prophecies claim that his children will inherit the Scottish throne and because unlike himself, Banquo refuses to allow ambition to drive him to murder.
