In his soliloquy, Macbeth hallucinates that he sees a dagger floating in the air. What do you feel causes this illusion?

Guilt and fear cause the illusion. The "dagger of the mind" that Macbeth sees is not "ghostly" or supernatural, so much as it is a manifestation of the inner struggle that Macbeth feels as he contemplates the regicide.
