Shakespeare begins the play with witches to draw the audience into his tale. Elizabethan's believed in witches and they believed that witches served the Devil. Shakespeare makes sure that he includes many dark and ominous elements during this seen. Bad weather, animal spirits, and evil equivocation are all dark elements of the scene.
