What qualities of (a) Duncan's character and (b) Malcolm's character are brought brought out in their first appearance in the play?

Duncan is a strong leader, who believes in rewarding his loyal subjects..... particularly, those who've proven themselves courageous and selfless in battle.
Malcomb, Duncan's son, seems very like his father, although we do not see him as a leader. In relaying information to his father, we see that he is willing to give credit where credit is due, and also to see loyalty rewarded.
