When Mark shows up at Juliet's door he tells her to tell Peter that it is carol singers; in his hands he has large white posters with writing on them. Instead of saying anything, Juliet must read the cards, which reveal how Mark truly feels about her.
The Lobster
One particularly charming detail in the film is that Karen must make her daughter a lobster costume for the nativity play. While she is unclear on why there is a lobster present at the birth of Jesus, Karen is happy to make a papier-maché lobster, which her little girl ends up wearing in the performance.
Kissing Backstage
After the Christmas play, a curtain rises and reveals the prime minister, David, kissing Natalie. They thought they had gone backstage to find some privacy, but they end up getting revealed in the most public way.
American Women
Colin goes to America in hopes that his British-ness will bring him sexual attention from American girls, even though he is a relatively average-looking man. While his friend does not believe this is viable, Colin actually ends up in a dive bar in rural Wisconsin, surrounded by sweet-natured and very accommodating American beauties.
