Lord of the Flies

Why doesn't Jack like Ralph? Why do they hate each other? How does each boy think of the other as?

I read Lord of the Flies in 7th grade and I just had a question. Why does Jack and Ralph hate each other? How does each boy think of the other as? I know this was kind of a dumb question but I really just need to know why they hate each other. Also why does Jack hate Piggy and what does Jack do that kills Piggy?

Jack kills piggy right?

Actually, Ralph and Jack don't really hate each other..... their competitors for leadership. Jack and Ralph see each other as competition. They also see each other as barriers to getting what they really want. Piggy is not killed by Jack, he is killed by Roger, one of Jack's hunters. Roger deliberately dislodges the rock that kills Piggy.
