In Chapter Seven, Ralph actually joins in with the hunters and their barbaric behavior. He believes that he is losing control of himself and his leadership. He is losing hope.

In chapter 7, Ralph is caught up in the hunting and enjoys it. After, he realizes that he lost control of himself. He starts to lose hope and thinks that things are starting to go bad.
