why do you think ralph revealed piggy's name to all the boys? why did this real about Ralph's character?

Ralph thinks Piggy's nickname is funny, he hasn't figured out that revealing the name and using it causes hurt and humiliation. Ralph isn't yet mature enough to understand the repercussions and uses this to make the others laugh..... to get them on his side.
