why do you think Ralph revealed Piggy's name to all of the boys? What did this tell about Ralph's character?

I don't think Ralph remembered his vague promise to Piggy. In the excitement of the moment, Ralph revealed Piggy's derogatory nickname. At this point, Ralph still holds the characteristics of a boy who is looking for appreaciation and acceptance.
