Lord of the Flies

Where is non violence more prevalent than violence.

Jack is a more violent character and Ralph is more into non violence (at least in the beginning) so what chapter or pages has proof the non violence is an important part of how Ralph wants to run the island?

I think the early chapters (chapter 1 and 2) when the island and exploring is still a novelty to the boys has no overt violence. Jack, however, always carries the threat of violence.
